Abstract

In the present moment, the statistic is one of the main sciences used to describe phenomena of reality and every citizen must be prepared to it. This work involves the application a statistical literacy verification tool in a high school class of José de Almeida Maciel School, in Pesqueira-PE. The activity happened in three stages: in the first, we collected data by a pre-test to measure what students already knew about statistic, in the second, a pedagogical intervention, and lastly a posterior-test, to compare the results and to check how the students reacted to the activity. After, was made a field research, with the intervention focused on work with applied statistic in different contexts close to students. The results showed a significant improvement in comparison of the pre-test with the posterior-test, demonstrating, therefore, efficiency of work with literacy activities in the teaching of statistic and probility.
