Creative Mathematical Sciences Comunication: Unplugged Activities for Computational Thinking
DOI:

This is an account of an experience at the Sixth International Conference on Creative Mathematical Sciences Comunication, held in Bergen, Norway, in April 2022. At the event, a small group of researchers in computer science and related fields, teachers, and members of NGOs and companies involved in promoting computational thinking in elementary education gathered to present unplugged activities and discuss how to bring advances in computer science and related fields to the general public and school-age children. The interactions not only provided experience with new activities but also reflections on the implementation of similar activities in schools. I draw an analogy to the New Maths movement, hoping that the history of that experience will allow us to avoid mistakes made in the past.
