Based on a discussion about the concept of Race and Curriculum in the context of Mathematics Education, this article aims to propose financial education built on other pillars. To this end, taking the Brazilian racial structure as a starting point and considering the neoliberal crossings of financial education taught at school, we visualize movements of black financial self-organization carried out throughout Brazilian history. These movements are political actions, conscious or not, of personal or collective organization carried out by black people who were enslaved or who were born free, having their ancestors enslaved. We understand that such a view is fundamental for the deconstruction of social inequalities and compliance with Law 10639/03, which deals with the mandatory teaching of Afro-Brazilian history and culture. Therefore, the experiences we present here, narrated by black voices and also by historiography, are not only inspiring, but as a foundation for anti-racist financial education that is interested in everyday activities, the real needs of the Brazilian population and life projects of black and peripheral people.
